Party Time!

Well, after a stressful few weeks we escaped this weekend for Spoticat's two day show and awards banquet. We only took two of the kittens, Eddie who was the youngest there and Brave who was the third youngest and youngest Selkirk. Eddie will be staying with us but Brave will be available.
Eddie managed two Shorthair finals on Sunday a 3rd and a 5th and had a great time playing in Jean Marc Lagarde's ring, a big thanks to him for letting this little lad have some playtime and learn that shows are fun, he certainly enjoyed it all.
We had the chance to dress up for the banquet, so in honour of Lexi I had a black and white dress but then to be a little bit different my outfit was finished off with bright pink shoes :-) It was great to collect her award and I am so proud of my darling girl.
We arrived back shattered last night. Thanks to my parents for looking after the brood and allowing us to have a couple of nights away.
This week should (I hope) see the start of the new floor going down, will we be ready for Christmas? Who knows!

Drip drip!

Well it's been an interesting week, our washing machine decided to fill the utility, kitchen, hall, bathroom and part of the cat room with water instead of washing the clothes! The dogs and cats were not impressed but the kittens thought the mopping up was great fun!!
The babies are getting big now and I'm growing more and more attached to them but as much as I would like I simply cannot keep them all, I know the right homes will turn up so it's just a matter of sitting and waiting.
We have no other litters due now, which considering half the house is going to be ripped up in the next couple of weeks, is no bad thing. I dread to think what Christmas is going to be like.
Spring and Thor are still growing like weeds and are both lovely dogs, if only we could get some sensible enquiries for them and the kittens, instead of the constant stream of 'how much'?

Happy Halloween

Well, off we went to Newbury on Sunday with Berry in tow. A huge thanks to Clair and Chris who took Kai with them on Saturday morning and handled him all day, he managed a 6th Best kitten in the Shorthair ring. It was fancy dress on Sunday and even the cats joined in!

Clair's boy Bud (Lelaurier Cowboy Boots) had a great weekend with 7 finals in total.

Well done Blossom

More good news from our puppy owners, Blossom has just passed her Puppy Foundation Assessment which is part of the Kennel Club's Good Citizen Dog Scheme. It certainly looks like this litter have picked up their mum's intelligence!

Well done Welly!

I thought it was about time I caught up with the 21st Century and had a blog for all the comings and goings here at Lelaurier!
I had news last night that one of our Dalmatian pups, from our March 08 litter, Lelaurier Springsunshine 'Welly' has passed his Bronze Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Sceme and is now working towards his Silver! Well done Welly and especially Liz for all the work you have put in.
We still have two of Welly's littermates waiting for the right people to whisk them away from us.
Our October 07 litter of pups are one year old today so Happy Birthday to all of them, Storm has matured in to a very handsome young dog as has his brother Rolo that I saw yesterday.
Our kittens are running riot and having a great time as is the norm round here, we are showing this weekend so more news to follow....
